Prof. Gaiero leads a group of researchers dedicated to understanding dust activity in southern South America. The main foci of the group are to measure dust fluxes from southern South America, improve understanding of present-day and past dust provenance in the regions, and evaluate the relevance of iron-rich dust on the biogeochemistry of the Southern Ocean.
